Regular voicing is recommended, because the felts compress over time, changing the tension and shape, which can lead to a tone that is too hard, difficulty controlling the volume, notes that stand out or even shrill sounds that are painful to the ears.

Carried out by qualified technicians, voicing reshapes the hammers and rebalances the tensions every 5 to 10 years depending on use.
